Graduate school introduction

This postgraduate course, which connects fine arts-related faculties with those of social sciences (economics/management), was established in 2016. Students who enter from fine arts-related faculties, such as the Saga University Faculty of Art and Regional Design, will, in addition to foundational expertise and abilities, also gain expert knowledge in economics and management. Likewise, students who enter from the economics and management faculties, such as the Saga University Faculty of Economics, will, in addition to higher-level education and research in economics and management studies, also gain perspective and expert knowledge that utilizes the design sense and cultural assets necessary for designing and running businesses. Through these earned skills, the students will become human resources leading regional revitalization for businesses and local governments tasked with managing local revitalization efforts, as well as organizations for businesses and other entities. In this postgraduate course, students learn a variety of fields - fine arts, humanities, and sociology - with many of them aiming to become researchers and advancing to the doctoral program.

Not only entrants from faculties, but exchange students and working adults who so desire are also welcome to enter the course. A curriculum has been prepared in which students will become human resources that can contribute to the regional culture and economic development of Japan and other countries.
